About the WGA
WGA stand for the World Goldpanning Association, which is the recognised network of National Goldpanning Clubs and Associations.
The WGA members are nations, often represented by national goldpanning organisations. Each member nation are allowed two national representatives at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) who form the WGA council. The council meet yearly during the World Championships and
vote on future competition bids as well as changes to the rules or competitions.

The executive board of the WGA consists of a president, vice president, treasurer and secretary, who are elected for a three year term. The executive board is assisted by the Competition Committee and Communications Committee, formed by an appointed and authorised group of people. The chairpersons of these committees complete the board.
Aims
The main aims and objectives of the WGA are:
to promote goldpanning and prospecting in a spirit of peace, understanding and fair play without any discrimination as to politics, gender, religion or race.
to respect Members and to promote unity among them in matters relating to goldpanning and prospecting.
to promote and oversee international goldpanning competitions, conducted by its Members and to promote and incourage courses and conferences held by its Members.
to disseminate information on W.G.A. activities.
to develop and maintain contact and co-operation between the WGA and other appropriate organisations, associations and centres of learning.
